We had the pleasure to interview the newest English teacher Ms. Kate, who arrived at KIS in September, 2015. The students’ first impressions of Ms. Kate were that she looked very pretty and young. Through our interview, Ms. Kate had astonished us by introducing more details about her personal background.
She came from Canada, and lived in Vietnam for 1 year. Kate revealed to The Link that she is 34 years old. We were surprised at her age, but we are dedicated to asking tough questions here at The Link. We thought she is only 29 or 31 years old. However, she is 34 years old!!
Kate's favorite Western food is cheese, and favorite Korean food is Sam-Kye-Tang, which is a type of ginseng chicken soup. By 6 years ago she had the dream of being a teacher. Luckily she was in Vietnam and her friends told her about our school. So she came. She teaches middle school and high school feels comfortable with the new students. In return, the students are nice to her.
Kate is from Canada, but she has lived in both Korea and Vietnam. She has taught in Korea for two years and has been in Vietnam for a year. She said that our school and the school she has taught in Korea are very similar, but the only difference was that there are palm trees here. We asked Kate about the good things and bad things in our school. We asked her how it has been so far in KIS, and she said that her students have been very nice, and have good attitudes in classes. However, she mentioned that it was very hot and tiring when the air conditioner in her class was broken.
We at The Link feel lucky she was in Vietnam when her friends told her about our school.
We hope Ms. Kate is happy at Korean International School, has a great time, and makes some amazing memories while at our school.
